I drove to Alkmaar, to a place where you wouldn’t necessarily expect anything special. Just an industrial area, but what stayed with me wasn’t the location, but the conversation, about creativity and getting stuck. And about something we often misunderstand. We sometimes believe that once you’ve “made it,” ideas just keep flowing. That success guarantees inspiration. It doesn’t. Even photographers who work internationally, publish books, and have full calendars get stuck. The difference is that they don’t see it as failure, but as a signal. In this episode, I talk about why creativity isn’t a talent you either have or don’t have, but a muscle you train. Why making space matters more than working harder. And why two hours without a clear goal can be more valuable than a fully productive day. I also share something personal, about slowing down and being forced to pause.
